The next day Louis had slept in one of the guest rooms, too angry to be beside Lestat. It was not a restful slumber, and he awoke in early evening just as frustrated as he'd been the night before. He could hear Lestat moving in the house, likely preening and getting ready to go out.

It was just like old times, he thought grimly as he dressed in dull grays. Lestat gaily killing, drinking mortals to death with glee, sharing it with Claudia, while he stayed apart, mired in the morality. But the old times weren't what any of them had wanted, and he didn't intend to stand aside this time.

When he approached Lestat he didn't greet him, only crossed his arms and informed him "I'm going with you tonight."
